I just updated my reporting server (test environment) from sql2014 sp1 to CU6.
This included a fix I needed in SSRS were I was getting An error occurred during printing. ( 0x80004005).
The problem(s) now are:
1. The Drop Box List for parameters will not let you stretch them. You get a small combo box with scroll bars up/down and left/right. This does not work well for my users, a list of up to 100 items that I can only see 5 of at a time?? ouch.
2. If you try to increase the width after the data is populated, the box is no longer selected.
This causes you to have to hit the drop arrow again, however, it does not work! You have to refresh the data in order to re-select values in the drop box.
Are these changes considered UPGRADES?
Can I replace the rsreport config file to the old one?
I fix one major issue only to introduce 2 new issues.
I expect this from MS Windows, not SSRS/MSSQL!

Okay, So now I have tried to uninstall the CU6 from the server.
After doing this step I get:
The version of the report server database is either in a format that is not valid, or it cannot be read. The found version is '163'. The expected version is '162'. (rsInvalidReportServerDatabase) Get Online Help
If I reinstall CU6 it works again. But if course the Drop Boxes do not work as desired.
Looking good MS.

I am still doing some testing.
However, CU4 seems to be the sweet spot.
It fixes the print issues without breaking the drop down box functionality.
However, I have installed this 3 times in a test environment and it has thrown an error of some sort on all 3 attempts.
Not blaming the install package, various things caused the errors. however, with the errors, the install package will not let you correct the issues.
It tells you the error, for instance, unable to start X service. So I start it and continue.... No, it exits when you okay the error.
It has already installed, the @@version is good, the error is fixed etc.
However, the uninstall is not available. ( I am assuming it has an uninstall? ) based on info provided by MS.
If you try to install/repair, it exits with an error, no items selected. This install does let you select items!
Anyway, I will do a fresh install and remember to run as Administrator...DUMB @$$ and see if all goes well with CU4.

So, I tried the NEW CU6. It installed clean, however, the reporting bugs continue.
The uninstall was also clean. CU4 seems to be the sweet spot for ME for now.
No one else using SSRS on 2014 SP1?
