SSRS: way to add 100 columns in tablix,

  • Hi,

I have report that have 100 buckets (for each day for 3+ month), so I need to compose it somehow, is there any way to automate this in SSRS 2008 ?

This is hard coded stable number of columns, not tied to results.

Probably there are some dynamics tools ?

I also would like to add some background color formatting to all of this 100 columns, probably there is good way to automate this too.

    Appreciate your help

    Mario

  • I don't know much about it because I don't use SSRS but I believe that what you're looking for is called a "matrix" in SSRS. I also believe (IIRC from a discussion with someone else a couple years back), that it can be made dynamic (3 month sliding window, for example). I'd look it up for you but you're probably smarter at SSRS than I am.

If that doesn't work out for you, there's a way to do this in T-SQL.

RBAR is pronounced "ree-bar" and is a "Modenism" for Row-By-Agonizing-Row.
First step towards the paradigm shift of writing Set Based code:
________Stop thinking about what you want to do to a ROW... think, instead, of what you want to do to a COLUMN.

Change is inevitable... Change for the better is not.

I'll check it out. Meanwhile I just used wizard and add all my columns to details line so got everything in Tablix.

There is also a way to edit .rdl as xml file directly.
