What is advantage and disadvantage of using dundas dashboard instead of ssrs?

Your question comes down to a simple but important difference in reports vs. dashboards. Think of reports as being large multi-page collections of data that an analyst would use to see all of the raw details. The problem with reports is that it can take forever to plow through a large amount of data and is pretty useless for immediate decision making. This is where dashboards come in as they seek to solve the problem of large amounts of data and slow decision making. A dashboard should offer a single page view of your data that someone can understand without a large amount of time.

Dundas Dashboard is a platform for building custom dashboards that can morph to meet any business’ requirements. There are a lot of Dashboard vendors out there and most of them have a preconceived notion of what a dashboard should be. To be perfectly frank most of them are laughable and are filled with silly gauges and gimmicky interactivity. Remember what everyone’s PowerPoint presentations looked like when PowerPoint first came onto the market? More art than content... A good dashboard should be data dense but very easy to read and understand. Now a big problem with a custom platform like Dundas Dashboard is that they can be used for both good and evil. When you have an application that is open ended you can still build bad dashboards so don't blame the vendor if the user of the software does not make something meaningful.
