Basically my reports are formatted displays of underlying datasets.
How do I make the full (preferably not just the fields actually on the formatted report), dataset available to the end user, to be exported to excel.
(The dataset can be exported be parameters, eg using stored procedures)
I have tried putting in hidden tables in the report - this seems a cumbersome method.
I would strongly prefer the option of the underlying data to be available, alongside the SSRS report - so end users went to the same place for formatted report, or basic data.
Any pointers in the right direction would be gratefully accepted. THanks

Hi Adam
Have you considered going the other way?
SSAS OLAP cube with a custom action which allows users to run a formatted SSRS report?
That way users can interrogate data and if they want a formatted report they can just run it.

Hi,
Any ideas on this. How to export entire dataset to excel. In my SSRS report, i have results at aggregated level. Whereas the requirement is to export the report at Detailed level.
Thanks,
Sundar

I suggest that you post your question in a new thread to increase its visibility.
