Hi,
I restored all databases from my old server to a new server. This includes reportserverdb and reportservertempdb.
After restoring reports are not working..complaining about data source. My existing reports uses embedded datasource.
When i looked at the target webservice --> a particular report-->manage--> data source.. the data source text box is empty...where as in old machine, this text box has data source value.
Am I missing something? I thought restore of Db will bring all embedded data source.
i used reportsynch tool for shared data source and that works fine.My server move is stuck due to this..so any help appreciated.
thanks

Did you restore the encryption key from the old reporting services server to the new server?

Hi,
Yes ..I restored encryption key by backup and restore thru SSRS config..
Someway it is not showing the Datasource.
But if I query to SSRS catalog, I can see the data source appears in the reportserver tables..I am not sure why its not populating to the webservice..

Are you a system administrator in reporting services? You could try running your browser as an administrator and see if the data source information is displayed.

Sysadmin on the VM does not make you a sysadmin is SSRS. It gives you access to run a browser as an administrator and granting yourself permissions.
Not sure what to tell you as you should be able to get in as an administrator by running the browser using Run As administrator. Maybe try again.
See the Report Manager Site settings section in the following documentation:
Configure a Native Mode Report Server for Local Administration (SSRS)

Thank you for trying to help me.
I meant I am Sysadmin on Vm and sysadmin site role in SSRS as well.
Finally I found the issue and sorted out.there was an old SSRS DB and tempdb, which was created for testing in same machine.During the go live time,I dropped these temp DBs..not the assymetric key. Then I restored a current backup of these DBs and a new verson of assymteric key..this was causing the issue.
Ideally I should delete the assymetric key first..then only drop the SSRS DBs..this order has to be maintained.
At this stage there is no SSRS db/no assymetric key in my SSRS.
then gone for SSRS DB restore..and configured SSRS config.at the end restored the assymetric key.all started working as expected at this stage. So it was a learning for me how to drop SSRS DBs.
thanks
