Hello Folks,
I have an urgent need to explain to a client the security levels one could have within SSRS 2008 R2. I do know the basic level access one can set within Report Manager and having certain users have access to certain reports, however i am not sure if data level security can be obtained by just setting parameters within Report Manager. I keep thinking that maybe a Sharepoint 2010 integration is needed to be able to have this kind of security granularity.
There will be an application security level where application users will be able to set certain parameters for report users as well and determine what data these users will have access to in the reports.
Could this be done within the SSRS/SQL world easily or a Sharepoint inmplementation would be the best/easiest way to go without having to reinvent the wheel.
Any input / info is much appreciated.
Thanks!
R.

Just to add to the post above, these are some of the scenarios i will be facing :
Example access control for SSRS report scenarios:
Scenario 1: User can only access to a report if they have a specific Role
Scenario 2: Parameter values (like picklists) within a report are filtered by App Role
Scenario 3: Report data itself is filtered by App Role
Scenario 4: Any combination of the above
