SSRS 2008 issue with subscription and windows integrated security

  • I have created a report with Report Builder and used a cube (SSAS) as data source.

I set it up as "Windows Integrated security", and when I run the report, it works fine. No issues at all.

Then, I want to subscribe, but I get this error message:

"Subscriptions cannot be created because the credentials used to run the report are not stored, or if a linked report, the link is no longer valid.".

If I use "Credentials stored securely in the report server", then the security in SSAS will be meaningless...

What should I do to have Windows Integrated security, and also be able to have users subscribe to the report?

    Thanks,

    Walter

  • No pun intended, actually it is your request that is meaningless. What you want, is the server to be able to impersonate each and every user account so that it can connect to SSAS in those users context. Now, that would be a huge security issue. That said, I am too truly upset by the security mechanisms in SSAS, it would have been just SO nice to have something like SQL logins in SSAS as well.
