When I create an ad hoc report in Report Builder, it only allows me to sort by the first field in the report.
If I go to 'Sort and Group' it shows all fields, but if I select a field other than the first one in the list, it disappears.
After I run the report, when clicking on the little arrows in the report header only works for the first field in the report.
If I click on any of the other arrows, nothing happens.
Thanks,
Andrea

What type of object is in your report, table, matrix, list? I'm assuming it's a matrix and as such you won't be able to sort by your column groups. This is a known issue and supposedly has been corrected in SSRS2008. You could always recreate your matrix in your query and then use a table or list to actually output your results thereby allowing you to sort however you need to.

The sort function in the column headers are designed to be used one at a time - there is a known bug that sometimes you cannot re-sort after the original sort. If this occurs, and it sounds like it is, you will need to re-run the report. One option - undocumented - to sort on multiple columns is to select Ctrl key and click (in order) the columns you wish to sort.
Sorry, not much help, but good luck.

Thanks for the responses.
I does appear to be a bug, because now it's working just fine and I did not make any changes.
Thanks for the tip about sorting on multiple columns.
