SSRS 2005 development using SSRS 2008? is it possible ?

    Hello

    I think I know the answer to this one already thought I'd ask; is it possible to develop SSRS reports using SSRS 2008 R2 and deploy them to a SSRS 2005 Reporting Server?

    I know the XML implementation between 2005/2008 is very different and I don't think it would be possible but there are a lot more intelligent people out there than me.

    I would be interested in being corrected on this, but I have been told they are not backward compatible. My understanding is reports developed in 2005 might work in a 2008 environment, but not vice versa.
