So I spent some time working on a query and when I went to exit SSMS 2008, I'm given the prompt "save changes to the following items?", and it gave me the default SqlQuery1.sql ... or I assume it did. I've never just clicked "Yes" here, I typically go and save to a location I prefer and then exit. I clicked YES this time. I go back into SSMS, go to File > Recent Files and it's not listed? I've searched my entire drive and the server drive and I can't find this query I was working on.
Where and how is this saved? Is it a .SQL file? I assume it's supposed to be in the default My Documents\SQL Server Management Studio folder?
EDIT: Oh my! In trying to reproduce this, I just realized it was supposed to give me a Save File As prompt but I never got one, it just closed. I'm starting to wonder if I clicked 'NO' but I distinctly remember pointing to YES thinking, "When's the last time I used this feature"...and I was expecting the Save As box and it simply didn't display one.
*Sigh* looks like it's time to start on that LONG Insert command again.

Yes should be somewhere around here
\UserLarry\Documents\SQL Server Management Studio\Projects
If not, then yeah I used click no too (after a long day)
