Hi ...
I get the following error when trying to launch SQL Server Managment Studio 2008:
"An error has occurred while trying to access the license validation file.
Please reinstall SQL Server to correct this file."
Additional details:
1) Windows Server 2008 Enterprise x64 SP1, SQL Server 2008 Developer Edition .
2) I can able to access the database by application but i can not open the ssms from the server machine.
Thanks in Advance.

I'd reinstall the client tools.

No. It just sounds like the install was corrupted.

Ask you network admin to open up the port (usually 1433) on the server. Something the SQL Server install team doesn't mention for 2003 or 2008 OS Server installs.
