I'm stumped. It appears that when you open a Table in SSMS by right-clicking on 'Open', the Grid control does NOT have the "TextMode=MultiLine" attribute set. Using [Ctrl]-[Enter] simply moves to the next cell.
Is there any way to modify this behavior? I realize I can use T-SQL to accomplish this, but it's for a user, and for a fairly large number of entries. A permanent solution is what I'm hoping for.

So he is either a power user or I commiserate with him 😛
To your question:
I don't think that you can change this grid appearance. Maybe he should use a simple GUI. MS Access should be able to be configured for this without any programming.

Thanks, Flo. Sigh...
I can cobble the data-entry in Access, but it won't help the appearance in the SSMS TableView grid, though. The CRLF will show as unprintable characters, instead of formatting as expected.
