SSMS extension to allow categories/organise DBs

  • Hello,

After having a discussion with someone regarding how SSMS organises databases in the list (i.e. alphabetically) I was wondering if anyone had ever created an addon for it that would allow you to "move" databases into folders, or categories. We are going to have alot of Sharepoint 2010 dev boxes soon and that can mean 10+ databases per install, and we would like to be able to work out which databases belong to which server easily.

Attached is an example of what I would like to see.

    Anyone seen something like this?

    Thanks

Doesn't seem necessary to me. Since they are being installed on different servers, they won't be listed together anyway.

  • Sorry what I meant was that 5+ dev sharepoint boxes would be using the same SQL server, so there will be 50+ databases on the server.
