SSMS connections to Availability Groups

    Hello,

    I am new to Sql server and have a question on SSMS connecting to AGs. When I connect to the primary node the database has a white circle on it and on the secondary node it has a green arrow. I would think it should be the other way around. Primary should show a green light, no?

    Thanks for entertaining my silly question.

    Ideally all your SQL servers should show a green arrow.

    I find that I have to enable a couple of firewall rules for Windows Management Instrumentation for that to happen, DCOM-In and WMI-In.
