Hi All,
I've come to the point now where I'm getting down right annoyed that SSMS 2016 "Forgets" a lot of my preferences every time I load it up. It seems that whenever I load it, it forgets which bars I want at the top (for example my Redgate and SQL Editor bars disappear), that i want space bars, not tabs, and my colouring goes to a grey back ground with default letter colouring (making it unreadable).
No matter how many times I save my vssettings, nothing changes. I jsut saved my settings, botted up another SSMS instance (which loaded with bad settings), loaded my settings and nothing changed. I'm fed up of having to reset all my preferences each and every time I restart or need to close SSMS.
Has anyone else had this problem, and if so, how did you resolve it?
Thom~

Thom I had the same issue with some of the earlier versions of SSMS2016; in my case, my settings(which are stored in %appdata%\Microsoft\SQL Server Management Studio\13.0\SqlStudio.bin)
would reset, lose previous history, reset the columns size from 80000 back to 256, and more often than not skip the loading some of the third paryt SSMS plugins i use.
it wasn't' until a couple of upgraded versions of SSMS that the issue went away for me.
When i do help>>About, I'm running 13.0.15000.23, and there is a tray icon stating there is yet another version waiting for me to upgrade to, but at least since this version, I'm not having the problems i had previously.

Same for me- after a couple of updates the problem went away.
