I just installed SSMS 2014, and it seems to be identical to SSMS 2012. Are there any new features or geewiz additions I might be missing? We don't use Azure which seems to be one of the big changes, so anything else?
Thanks -- just curious 🙂

Hi Sam,
There are few differences but will hardly be used in day to day life. I would not consider then new functionality or difference between SSMS 2012 and 2014, It's again old wine in new bottle 🙂 Below are few differences
Under System Policies 2 new policies are added
1) SmartAdminSystemHealthPolicy
2) SmartAdminUserActionsHealthPolicy
Under System Conditions 2 new conditions are added
1) SmartAdminSystemHealthCondition
2) SmartAdminUserActionsHealthCondition
Under Facets 2 new states are added
1) Smart Admin
2) SmartAdmin State
You can find what these new things will be used using below link:

Thanks..

It doesn't seem as much slower to start up as SSMS 2012 was compared to SSMS 2008 R2, particularly when starting multiple instances.
It crashes/freezes/stalls a lot less than SSMS 2012 did (still worse with 2008 R2, but not as much worse).
