Hi guys,
Just starting to look into using SSL encryption to protect the integrity of data trasmitted back and forth from client to server and back. I found some information in BOL about having to have a certificate from a Certificate Authority. Also noted that it said not to apply a certificate on both the server and the clients. Admittingly my networking skills are not up to par for this task.
As i work for an ISV what would be the recommended procedure for distributing an application using SQL Server 2000/2005 as a back-end implmenting SSL encryption? Do i need anything special in my connection strings for the ADO objects? I am basically looking for any help i can get on this. From the sounds of it so far this is really easy. Am i making this harder than necessary?
Thank you,

I have not tried to implement as of yet. I am just trying to gain helpful insight. Do you have any you would like to share?

the strange thing is that if I install a SSL-cert at serverside (logged on using the sqlserver service account)
and I only enable TCP/IP and set the SQNNC-properties to only allow encrypted connections, I'm still able to connect (windows and sql-auth)
from a client without any certificate.
