SSL and Reporting Services SP1

  • Hello!

I have installed Windows 2003 SP1/SQL Server 2000 SP3a/Reporting Services SP1. Computer has firewall enabled with 443 (SSL) port open. I was running under this configuration without problems.
Later on, I installed SSL key from Verisign (trial version). In order to make RS work with SSL, I made changes into RSReportServer.config  and RSWebApplication.config files according to: http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/dnsql2k/html/sslsetup.asp. All RS URLs in those files are using https instead of http.
RS behavior is sort of strange. If I set SecureConnectionLevel=3 (highest level), I am unable to connect to RS interface (https://testwin2003/Reports/Pages/Folder.aspx) because of the following error: 'The underlying connection was closed: Could not establish trust relationship with remote server.'.
If I change SecureConnectionLevel=2, I can login and execute reports through https but 'Site Settings' are still executed through http. Also, when I try to click on Report properties, I am getting the same error message. I can access Report properties, once I set SecureConnectionLevel=0 (do not use SSL).
Both client and RS belong to the same domain.
I am really puzzled by this behavior. It doesn't so far as Windows 2003 SP1 reported:
Could this be because I am using trial version of Verisign SSL?

    Any help is greatly appreciated,
    Igor
