SSIS - setting page break as a row delimiter

  • Hi,

I need to import a text file using SSIS. When I open this file in Microsoft Word I can see page breaks.

While creating SSIS connection I need to set these breaks as row delimiters. Any ideas?

    thanks,

    Alex

  • What is the file that you are using?

can't you open the file in Notepad?

If not, then open the file in word, and select Saveas, and change the format that it is saved in. Save it to a .txt file with line breaks

If it IS a text file, then I think its word placing the page breaks, I doubt they exist in the file.

What error are you receiving? if any

  • these are text files. I can open them with Notepad and I can see those characters

(a set of rectangles, kind of CR). I also opened it with another text editor and saw the hex values. My problem is that i cannot copy them into SSIS when i define text file connection. They simply wouldn't paste into row delimiter text box. I was looking for a way to define custom row delimiter but it seems to be limited to whatever is predifined in SSIS (LFCR, CR etc)

    thanks
