Seems like u did move to the next step after seeing the error, establising the connection. The error:
Verify that the column metadata is valid. End Error Error: 2009-03-31 18:52:03.47 Code: 0xC004701A Source: {CB31A447-1C4C-46C1-B985-B245BD421130}
tells that when mapping different columns in both servers, metadata changed. That can be fixed if u just go to the SSIS Data flow task and double click where ever Data transfer task is showing u error or warning by double clicking on it. It might ask that "DO you Want to fix the metadata" click YES and run the package again.

Task CompensatingSql failed is what I see now. Everything is under Control Flow -no data flow components.
I'm getting the rope ready, as I cannot get this to work no matter what I do!

At this point, I would step through each step of the SSIS package manually (right-click the step, select Execute) one at a time to determine which step has an issue (sounds as though it is the step called CompensatingSQL). As Mayank Khatri stated, focus on getting the package to run outside of a SQLAgent first.

Take a fresh breath away from your computer, throw away your rope.
