I have a DTS packing running on windows server 2000 which has only one task. That task is an ActiveX task with a vbscript. The script is used to check connectivity to various SQL Server instances in our firm and send an email with all the connection problems to the SQL Server instances.
The package is scheduled as a sql server agent job and run fine and takes around 2 secs to execute.
But when I created an SSIS package by using the same vbscript and run the package it takes very long to execute. It never completes the execution. I have to stop it manually after running for 45 mins or 1hour.
I have even tried even using activex script step in SQL Server agent Job directly but the same thing happens. Even I had run the original DTS package using SSIS Exceute DTS 2000 package, but I get the same problem.
I don’t why this is happening. Could any one help me with this?
