SSIS: Import Packages error

  • I am on 9.0.4053 EE ,Default instance.

    I am trying to import a SSIS package, Connected to the default IS, Right Click, MSDB, Import Package, gives the following error:

    Unable to cast object of type 'Microsoft.SqlServer.Dts.ObjectExplorerUI.ImportPackageAsAction' to type 'Microsoft.SqlServer.Dts.ObjectExplorerUI.ISimpleAction'. (Microsoft.SqlServer.DtsObjectExplorerUI)

    I have tried changing the MsDtsSrvr.ini.xml file to the default servername,reboot IS, nogo, I changed it back to '.', reboot IS, Nogo.

    Its a default instance, Any help would be appreciated.

  • Have you tried from BIDS?

    Create a new SSIS project in BIDS, under packages, right click add existing package and choose the SQL Server where it is stored..

    Give it a try..

    Just like how you saw this thread as an active / recent post, I too saw the post and gave my thoughts without looking at the actual date of the OP. Don't worry, it sometimes happens that, you see the most recent post in the thread and assume it was a recent thread... 🙂
