Does anyone know of a good (free or cheap) diff / merge tool for comparing file-based SSIS packages?
I use SourceGear DiffMerge now, but like most other diff tools it just treats them as text. I am looking for something that is a bit more intelligent about ignoring the GUID and x/y position differences of two otherwise identical packages.
SSISdiff.exe is a decent, free option, but it is has proven to be a bit cumbersome to integrate into my working environment so I am looking for other options.
I just downloaded Apex and am about to try it, but I may not bother since it's a bit pricey so I don't want to get attached to it 🙂

I haven't heard of any good ones. It's a hard problem to solve visually and most vendors have avoided it.
