Okay, gang, it just got worse. Documentation on the MS OLEDB driver for DB2 says it doesn't support BLOB or CLOB data formats. There's a forum string on MSDN suggesting using the IBM DB2 Client 9 setup, which requires an IBM login and password to get.
Thanks for the help, everybody! I'm now going to go have a nice cry.

Typical. Havent used db2 provider but used Lotus Notes and the same you cannot export a column over 256 characters unless you logon on to ibm and purchase their odbc driver.

It does look like the IBM DB2 OLE DB provider does work with CLOBs and BLOBs. And you can just put in your own info on the site to get a login. So, if anyone does need to get there from here, it's a solution. You do have to do a data conversion step for all the CHAR fields, though, which is dumb. The provider sets all DB2 CHAR fields up as unicode strings. The data conversion step has to set them up as strings.
