We use SQL 2005 Enterprise 32 bit.
SSQL Service and BI Services are running on the same Windows Server.
SQL Server 2005 is operating in the mixed secutrity mode.
I can easily connect to SQL 2005 from VS.NET 2005/BIDS using SQL
Server account and then build SSIS project in VS.NET 2005/BIDS.
Yet, if I try to connect to SSIS Server from SQL Server Management
Studio, the option "Connect with SQL Server account" is disabled.
"SQL Server Active Directory Helper" service is so far disabled on the
server. SSIS service is running under default Windows Network Account.
Thanks in advance for your help!

Integration Services is not part of SQL Server, but runs as a seperate service. Thus, it doesn't know anything about SQL Server logins. You can use SQL Server logins in connection managers for databases in a package, but you can't manage or execute packages from a SQL Server login. This is the same behaviour as DTS in SQL 2000.

Greg,
Thanks for your response.
Yet, could you further clarify the issue with establishing a connection to SSIS from SQL Server management Studio:
- Could this connection be established at all?
- What are major prerequisites?
Thanks for your help again.

Yes, you can connect to SSIS from SSMS. However, you must do so using a Windows account. SQL Server logins don't work. Hence the reason you can't change the login type for the Connection dialog window.

Brian,
Thank you for the precise response.
That's just what I was looking for.

Alex
