I managed to break the javascript in a post, so I cannot edit the post, nor use the mini "Explore "menu in the upper right that typically has a link to go to Latest/Recent etc
this post, I meant to put some code in the quote ifcode, added a weird char, and it's just a mess now

could you could peak at what I typed see if it's something to code around or bullet proof?

DamianC - Friday, January 13, 2017 6:17 AMSQLBill - Thursday, January 12, 2017 3:07 PMIn the old format, when I was in Forums, there was a My Posts link at the top. Does that exist now? If so where is it?-SQLBill
Select forums. Click your name to open up your member overview. Scroll down a bit to see some tabs headed up 'Topics' and 'Replies'. There's posts you started and posts you commented on
Wow....that's a lot of work compared to the previous version. At the top of the list of forums there was a My Posts link...so much easier.

DamianC - Friday, January 13, 2017 8:26 AMHow do you format code now?
I used to just use copy and paste between code markers
Code markers work but the formatting doesn't work and it just looks awful; one long string
Suspect I am missing something so advice would be appreciated
There are a fair number of minor annoyances (most of them have been mentioned on this thread) but that one is a big one for me.
My work around is to first copy and paste into MS Word. Then I run a macro that changes the font to Courier New, changes all spaces to hard spaces, and changes all paragraph marks to line breaks, and then automatically copies the code for me to paste to the "plain" IFCode. Except for the annoying occasional happy face (Mr. Peabody and the "Way Back" machine is in full swing), it works well and with only minor aggravation
I've also not been able to use the color changer fonts.

The color changer fonts is an on-and-off problem. Some people can get it to work. Others (like you and me) can't.

Over the weekend, I saw a huge flood of the same kind of spam we were getting in the old forum software; mostly links to current events like football games or other such crap that was supposed to drum up clicks for someone.
I almost bought some furniture, but sanity prevailed.
There are an awful lot of sharp guys on the forum, myself included, who could help.

minor annoyance: the email link for old vs new forum posts: new posts have a direct link to unsubscripbe.
old posts have the generic link to all the items you've ever subscribed ot.
if you wanted to unsubscribe from "The Thread" or anything else that popped up because a spam post attached to an eight year old thread,, you might have to go 50 or more pages deep to find the thread and unsubscribe.
old style that still comes:
new style

Thom A - Thursday, January 12, 2017 7:15 AMThis quote with Code Tags inside has gone a bit wonky. Looks like all the Line breaks were lost inside the quoted SQL: https://www.sqlservercentral.com/Forums/1849258/Using-a-DR-Script-with-Encrypted-backups
I have twice right-clicked the link above and choose "Open in New Window" and gotten nothing but my home IE screen (which is set to about:blank). Is something going on with these links preventing them from being opened using the right-click menu?

If anyone's testing this, I just looked and am seeing the same in IE11, but getting expected behaviour in Edge, Chrome, FF, and Safari.

That link seems to take you to what ever page you're currently viewing for me. if i go to Page 3, where my post is, the hyperlink is https://www.sqlservercentral.com/Forums/1849962/SSC-Forum-Updates?PageIndex=3, whereas on this page it's https://www.sqlservercentral.com/Forums/1849962/SSC-Forum-Updates?PageIndex=7, even though my post (when I edit it), clearly says it's https://www.sqlservercentral.com/Forums/1849258/Using-a-DR-Script-with-Encrypted-backups. Went a bit funky 😛
Works if I try it again though https://www.sqlservercentral.com/Forums/1849258/Using-a-DR-Script-with-Encrypted-backups

Yeah, the spam was pretty heavy this past weekend.

IE11 is definitely what I was using (constrained by corporate software policies).

Is something messing with the profile information?
I deliberately changed my website link to http://www.google.com last week (for testing) and this week it's pointing back to a defunct website. I KNOW I didn't restore that information.
Also, I could have sworn I set my timezone to Eastern, but now I can't find the timezone setting anywhere. Any thoughts on to where to find it? My profile thinks it is past 5 p.m. (I wish it was. It would mean that I was done with the day.)

Found the timezones under Forum Settings. And it is set to EST. But it thinks my time is 3:56 p.m.
And then under My Account -> Edit profile details here, I get this (lower right hand corner):
They're not even reflecting the same time, let alone the correct time. Anyone know what's going on?

Hmm. Just an FYI. After posting this, I hovered the mouse over the first image. Message popped up saying "67% of image size, click to enlarge". So I clicked and got a big translucent black screen with a close button but no image. I don't know if this is due to my IE settings or if anyone else is having this problem. Can someone check, please?

Exactly what I'm getting, for both images. That isn't what used to happen. It used to display the same image but at the same size and called it "enlarged".
