I am trying to connect, in SSAS, to a database on a server in a different domain.
I can connect to the server, and my object explorer window shows the server name with the 'Databases' and 'Assemblies' folders underneath.
Whe I try to open either folder they appear to be empty (they are not).
I'm not the administrator of this system, and the guy who is looking after it is finding it difficult to resolve. As he's 3000 miles away I can't sit with him and see what's really happening.
It feels like a permissions setting to me. Am I right? Anyone know where to look?
TIA

The guy, who is sitting 3000 miles away:D, has to add "you" in the default role "role" (i.e. Servers > Databases > SomeDatabase > Roles > Role) or create some role in each database that you want to have access on the server.
