After completing SRS installation I am unable to create new folders in Report Manager - the link is not present on the page. My environment is Windows 2003, SQL Server 2000, SRS with sp2. I selected NETWORK SERVICE as the account during setup and my login is an administrator on the machine. What permission or user account am I missing so that I can create folders and upload reports? Thanks

look for errors in the event log. I seem to recall that there were 17 "dcom" errors and that they had a link to MSDN to tell you how to fix them. They were easier to fix than the procedure stated; but that was a start. Not sure if your problem was a manifestation of the issue because I always fixed it right away. and with every subsequent installation the errors were back... always 17 of them. Oh, I was at SS 2005, not 2000. so maybe this is a waste of time. Sorry.
Thank-you,

My assumption is that this is security related.
Initially you need to be an administrator to be able to grant permissions in Report Manager. This is because the only security group created by default is BUILTIN\Administrators which has 'Content Manager' (highest) access.
You need someone who is an admin to add your user account to the 'Home' page as a 'content manager' and also to 'Configure site-wide security' under 'Site Settings'.
Better still create a Report Admins group in windows security add your account to the group and add this group to the areas i mentioned above, then you can add other adiministrators easily.
