SQLSERVER Start up time

    I don't know why it takes about 3-4 minutes in order for my sql2k server get backup every time I restart my server. Please anybody has any ideas. My sql2k is running on W2k. Thanks very much.

    Are there any error messages in the Error Log? What are the specifications of the server? What are the sizes of the databases?

    Check out the following topics in Books Online to see if they provide any clarity on what the server is doing, "Transaction Recovery" and "Help with Startup"
