I try to connect to SQLSERVER2000 and it cannot de found. I think my password is screwed up. can you help?

Ask the administrator to reset. If you are the administrator login to the windows server and connect to SQL Server with windows authentication. So you can reset the password.

If you don't have windows authentication enabled anywhere, then you might be in trouble. There's no way to hack past the password (even if there was, this is not the place to get it).
