I'm running R2 on Windows 7, no problems. You can.

Hi Grant, is it on Windows 7 Home Premium you are running SQL 2005 Ent Edtn.
I am running on Windows 7 Ultimate without problems, but I am not sure it on Home Premium.

When I tried Installing It gives me a compatibility issue. I can't select the reporting services and it gives a warning for IIS and asp.net.

If it is only giving warnings related to Reporting Services, then it is because of IIS not being setup. SSRS needs IIS on the machine.

Don't have it in front of me, but it's on the netbook that I'm running it (albeit, very slowly, just needed a place to carry with me for working on articles & stuff).

Got it Grant !
Any way the problem the OP seems to have is not the issue of installation of SQL Server but the Reporting Services only.

Well I was browsing the Microsoft website and the SqlServer 2005 Enterprise version is not supported on Windows7 Home premium and only the Developer Edition is possible.

You also missed Enterpise Evaluation and Express Editions they too are supported.
But what is your issue? Not able to install or not able to install only Reporting Services.
Why actually are you installing Enterprise Edition of SQL Server 2005 on a Desktop Version OS.

Possible. Like I said, I'm running R2, but it's an eval version. I would have installed the Developers version of any released product anyway. I'm not sure why you'd want to run a full enterprise SQL Server on a brain-dead version of the OS.

First thing it's not working. secondly I had an enterprise version with the key. I don't know if the Developers version has all the features of the Enterprise version. I am still in my learning stages.

A Developer Edition is exact replica in terms of features and options supportability wise. Only restriction is it is not supported by Microsoft in Production Environments.
In fact Enterprise Evaluation also is the same as Enterprise edition, but expires after 180 Evaluation period.
