  Hi,

  Pre-SQL2000 SP3, Microsoft had a known bug with the use of SQLMail extended procedures, such as xp_sendmail, which can result in an access violation on SQL2000 SP2.

  Micorosft released a patch which updated the file SqlMap70.dll to version 8.00.603.

  Now that SP3 is released Microsoft have removed this patch as the problem is fixed in SP3.

  My problem is that I have a production server with the above symptoms but I dont want to install SP3 as we have had problems after installation of SP3 on our test servers.

  Does anyone have or can provide a link to the HOT FIX that Microsoft released.

  Someone else suggested a different workaround to me a while back, which may be worth testing.
