sqlio.exe and the .dat file

    I have read the files that come with it. I see the param file and the command line. where / how do you create the dat file it's suppose to use?

    I am testing a new san. I have log files on raid1 and 2 sets of data files. 1 with 256k block size and the other with 128k. I want to stress test the configurations to see what way to go to production.

    far as I can remember it creates a "workfile" on the drives which you specify a size for somewhere in the run setup - it then uses this file to work with. You may have to define it in sectors ( I may be thinking of a similar product however )
