In SSMS, you can use SQLCMD mode and edit/execute SQLCMD commands. I am looking for a basic article that shows how to enable this (for a session or as the default) and show some SQLCMD commands.

I'll take this one. I don't use SQLCMD much anymore so it'll make me learn something 🙂

Excellent. Include some screenshots so people know where to find it and know they don't need a command window. find 2-3 useful things that SQLCMD allows that you can show.
