SqlAgentMail does not work with win2003 server

  We just upgraded our database (sql 2000 sp3) to a new machine running windows 2003 server os.

  We are also running ms-exchange 2003 passive on this node for our cluster.

  SqlMail works but SqlAgentMail does not. This is because SqlMail can use the newest version of mapi32.dll and SqlAgentMail uses Mapi0 which is not supported on win 2003 server-  at least if we want our exchange2003 to work.

  Has anyone set up alerts using  using sql mail (xp_sendmail) NOT SqlAgentMail?

  I know I can use xp_sendmail in a job and then have the alert run that job, but I then how would I get specific detail alert information in the email. Any ideas?

  If you know the alert, you could send some information in the mail using static text or perhaps a query from sysperfinfo.
