First, you need to find out why it's failing.
Do you know for sure if it is a domain account?

Hi Savita,
Please follow below steps
1.Goto start->run
2. type services.msc and click on ok
3. Check for the sql server agent service and right click on that and click on properties
4. A dialog box will open and click on the logon tab.
5. Check whether localsystemaccoutn is selected or this account is selected.
6. If this account is selected the account in the text box is the account is the service account and you change update the correct password here only.
7. if it is a domain account it will be in the form of (domain\accountname)
Thanks
Chandra
