Hi,
I have a SQL Server 2000 Enterpr. Edition (SP3) running on Windows 2000 Server (SP4). The sqlserver service is running under a domain account, sqlagent service is running under a local system account. The domain account is also present as a login in sql server and has system
administrator server role. Problems:
- Whenever I try to use the same domain account for sqlagent, it does
not start the agent service at all and unfortunately I have to go back
to local system account.
- I change the accounts in EM
- Some of our jobs don't work if sqlagent runs under a local system account
- If I start sqlagent in Windows cli under the same domain account the agent runs but not as a service

Don't change the account in EM. Go to the Computer Management MMC and stop/change/start it there. Are there any errors in the Event Log?

Yes, I try it in MMC too, but the result is the same. The error is: Could not start Service...

can you post the sqlagent.out file ?
All our sqlagent's are served using a windows account.

sqlagent.out file is empty, there are only entries when the agent starts, but it doesn't start!
We have about 40 SQL servers, most of them run using a windows account with no problem.
But we think we have to look for the problem in windows, because we found another service, which doesn't start.
