Dear Listers,
I imagine that many organisations operate with SQL7 on W2K, and that
someone has already gone through the task of investigation. I have read
that this is not an ideal combination. Is anybody able to provide personal
experience or direction to documentation that details potential problems.
Thanks In Advance
John

Hi there
I have been running this combo for around 8 months todate. No issues what so ever and I have yet to come accross any problems with performance from when it was running against NT v4.0 SP5. I suppose it comes down to issues related with the use of xp_ procedures that manipulate user groups etc perhaps. I have yet to ready any articles saying its not recommended. As always check with MS support re you support agreement validity when moving platforms.
Cheers
Chris

We ran for several months using that combo before moving to SQL2K. No issues. Worth doing it for the ease of administering Win2K I think.
