I have VS2012 ultimate installed. In the "Installed products" under the VS2012 Help Menu it states i have SQL Server Data Tools 11.1. When I go to SQL 2012 menu items in Windows quickstart menu and click on the the "SQL Server Data Tools" , VS2010 starts up.
I changed the Target to point at "C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Visual Studio 11.0\Common7\IDE\devenv.exe" instead of "C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Visual Studio 10.0\Common7\IDE\devenv.exe"
So now VS2012 starts up but under new projects I DO NOT have the option to create a new SSIS package. Nor the option to dowload the Data tools of the web.
I did go through VS2010 and download DataTools for 2010 and also selected the dowload for 2012. vs2010 now has Business Intelegence but VS2012 still does not have this template. Should the templates be available in vs2012 or are we suppose to develop in 2010 for SQL2012 SSDT ?
Please help. Slowly going mad.

VS2010 is still the IDE for SSDT / SSIS 2012 development. They have not ported the projects onto VS2012 just yet.

Yeah it sees the SQL data templates are there for 2012 in
Data tools but to get the templates for SQL2012 you need to go into VS2010 and go to New Project/SQL then download the updates required for SQL2012 into VS2010 to use them.
Although no Microsoft site tells you this.
Thanks for your help
