sql trace

  • I am trying to see the performance of my application< and i wanted to test how long the execution of stored procedures and the sql queries taking . And also i wanted to check the locks at the same.So while starting my tracing file what are the options i should select .

  • Have look in BOL at the chapter called "Creating and Managing Traces and Templates". It's a good place to start.

  • Go to ODBC settings, windows 2000 it's under control panel, administrator tools, ODBC, Click Trace, Click Start trace now, But the most important thing is remember to stop tracing, Tracing  makes the sql server related web application very very slow. Hope it's helpful.
