Hi All,
I am having a problem with some of my SQL tool functions for example, I am trying to run a script but the Execute button is grgrayed-outor some reason, even if I try to run it by pressing F5 it does not seem to do anything. Would someone let me know if you have come across this problem please.
Thank you

What tool are you using? SSMS?

Do you have a regular connection window open (the text editor), or did you right-click an object and select "Edit" or something like that?

No, this is the first time that I am trying to run anything on this server and I have never come across it before.

"No" to what? I asked an either/or question.
Do you not have any window open at all?

Okay. But that's not what I asked.
Are you connected to the server?
If so, do you have a query window open?

I am connected to the server and also can view all the objects, change security ect.. but I just cannot run any scripts for some weird reason.
Thank you

Do you have a query window open with a connection to that server?
Gus has asked this multiple times, and you still have not answered that question.
Do you have the client tools installed on your workstation, or are you running SSMS while RDP'd to the server? Do you have problems accessing the server from your workstation and executing queries?
Can you explain (in detail) what you are trying to do and the steps you are performing to get there? Include whether or not you are accessing the server directly (RDP session) or accessing the server from your workstation.

If you're not clear on what we're asking, just post a screen shot of SSMS with the Execute button grayed out. Should be able to see what's going on from that.

Basically, I do not have any problems with doing anything when I am using my local (accessing the server from your workstation), which includes running any queries, changing security permission, but when I try to use SQL Server Remotelly (Server side) I can connect to the Server and also open the query window but for some reason the execute button or even the F5 button does not seem to work.
Thank you

I had to unintall and reinstall SQL Server and everything is working good. I first took a backup of the data before I did anything.
Thank you very much for your help.
