Hello,
I purchased 2008 Developer from Amazon and there doesn't appear to be a product key anywhere on the package. Another forum posted that it's on "a piece of plastic that's not visible unless the package is open." Well, it's really not visible because I see nothing even resembling a 25-digit number anywhere inside the package. Where should it be? Am I looking right past it? And if it's not there, what are my options? This wasn't a huge investment (about $40) but I would still like to install it.
Thanks!

It may have been pre-pidded. Have you tried installing and seeing if it prompts for it?

Thanks, but I forgot to mention that yes, unfortunately, it prompts me for a key.

If there is no key on the case, or stamped on the CD - then you need to contact Amazon and ask them for it. Sorry...

The Product Key is on a bright orange sticker on the reverse of the plastic bit that holds the DVD.
I don't think you could miss it really, so have a chat to Amazon.
You bought it new, yes? Not used from the Amazon market place?

Yes, I bought it brand spanking new from Amazon. And I didn't think I could easily miss a 25-digit number. Ok, sounds like I need to chat it up with Amazon. If anyone else has any thoughts, please let them spew! Thanks everyone!

Cool. I can't imagine there will be any sort of problem, so long as the package still has the Certificate of Authenticity attached. 😉

Thankfully it does. Hopefully Amazon will clear it all up... thanks again!

Let us know. Typically it's been on the interior case with me, but I don't know how it's applied. I'd assume from MS, but possibly it's the responsibility of the vendor.

Yes, I should have said 'interior case' in my earlier attempt to explain where the product key sticker is on my copy.
