Our development department is growing yet again and we need something for source control. Does anyone have any advice on what to look at? What do you use and why you use it?
I've researched a few products out there and the one that looks the best is called SQL Source Control by Skilled Software ( http://www.skilledsoftware.com/sqlsourcecontrol.htm . I am just looking for some expert advice.

There are quite a few tools out there, like ApexSQL Edit which has source control features built-in, similar to Visual Studio. Of course, there are some simpler (cheap solutions). Steve Jones has written a series of articles here on the subject.

We use Embarcadero's Rapid SQL, which has built in source code control support for sourcesafe, PVCS, etc. (we use sourcesafe). Good IDE, versioning, check-in, out, etc. Works well for us.

Does anyone use SQL Source Control from Skilled Software? I think I have decided on purchasing this, I am just a little skeptical if I don't have any real people commenting on it.

Before purchasing the SQL Source Control from Skilled Software please evaluate Visual Source Safe from Microsoft. I once used it in a medium - large environment and it worked fine.
I do not know if the other tools mentoined here keep a file history but VSS does!! very handy in case of failure / loss. and NO file can be used at the same time (if set up right)!
