SQL services on cluster

  Hi,

  Why SQL Server services by default remain on manual startup mode in cluster environment? If any failover happens how these services come up online whereas they are in manual startup mode ?

  What if I put them in Automatic startup mode ?

  This is how a clustered service is supposed to be.

  It's the cluster service that takes care to start/stop the services. Leave them in "manual" startup.
