SQL service account

  • We are installing SQL Server 2012 Cluster in a week.

Which account should I use for SQL service?

  • A dedicated windows account just for that particular service.

  • Thanks anthony.green.

Does it have to be a Domain account?

  • If the server is in a domain then yes it is recommended, that way should you need to do anything to network shares you can set the correct permissions. If not a local account but it just needs to be a bog standard user, no elevated permissions either way.
