Hi,
I am currently monitoring a server and have discovered that
SQL Server:Buffer Manager (Target Pages) is 28160000 and
SQL Server:Buffer Manager (Total Pages) is 6623872
Where can I investgate what is causing Target Pages to be more than 4 times greater than Total pages?
Any possible ways of resolving this?
Thanks

If you search on this subject, you'll likely find those that say that target needs to be less than total. My understanding is that, if total is less than target, you're ok.

Hi Chuck,
Thanks for your reply. I thought that if the Target pages was higher than Total Pages than this suggested external memory pressure.
There is no external memory pressure anymore on the server but yet the Target Pages and Total Pages values remain the same.
Should I restart the services or server to clear out these values?
Thanks,
George
