SQL Server Virtualisation

    Hi,

    I'm preparing a proposal on Consolidation of 6 sqlserver databases using Virtual server i.e. virtualisation.

    I dont have previous experience on this and would like to have some advise on this.

    Could anyone please pass me the drawbacks or points that I must consider before proposing & implementing this?

    Correct me if i am wrong. The concept of virtualization is there in Windows 2008 with SQL 2008. The one that you have now is virtual server concept. There is a very good article aboput windows virtualization in microsoft.

    You r right on virtualisation that its on server2008 with sqlserver 2008 but what I'm looking for is the drawbacks of sqlserver 2005 over virtual environment (say Windows Server 2003)?

    I'll check up on Microsoft site, thanks
