hi friends,
I am not sure if this is the right category to ask this question.
I can see various tools on various SQL forums like this website, sql autority etc.
SQL Monitor
Red Gate
SQL Doctor, Diagnostic Tool
Apex SQL Tools
Devart SQL Tools
I have tried to go through them but i am wondering if some one can provide me on any feedback if they bought any of these tools or others. There are many on sql autohrity website.
Our team is kind sql developers doing T-sql, ssrs, ssis, bit of dba role (i.e. tuning queries, overall server productivity but not backup, restore). I would mainly look for something which could help us monitor sql server without strong DBA skills. We have help available from DBA whenver we want but if we can find out which queries are blocking, the server is slow because of IO or deadlock, which user is using all the resource on the server that would be good. I think some of these tools can provide this kind of information.
If any one can give some feedback i will be very grateful.
Thank you.

SQL Monitor is the only thing on your list that has anything to do with the monitoring you listed as the thing you wanted the most. I don't know how much it will help someone who isn't a DBA but it's as close as you'd get.
