I am involved in an interesting project where we are developing a peoplesoft application using SQL Server that will eventually be migrated to a DB2 on a mainframe. Is there a tool that can be used by our developers to proactively check for potential SQL syntax or performance issues that could be a problem in DB2? A tool similar to EXPLAIN.

In QueryAnalyzer you could you "show execution plan" or "display estimated execution plan".
