Hi,
Can we have SQL Server Standard Edition and Developer Edition on the same
box? We are thinking of running SQL Server Developer edition (for development)
instance along with SQL Server Standard Edition (for contingency) instance
on Contingency BOX.
Are there any precautions we need to take if we need to run the above
mentioned way?
Also I was thinking of locking 2 GB for SQL Server standard Edition and 2 GB
for Developer Edition. Can we do this using Fixed Memory setting in SQL
Server Properties?
Thanks & Regards,

I think you should definitely be able to do the memory locking using the fixed memory settings.
Also, is the box going to be licensed per-processor? If so, you can install as many instances as you need to, so maybe you wouldn't have to buy the Developer Edition (although ... I know ... it's cheap).

I don't see why this wouldn't work. I haven't tried it, but the instances should be separate. One will have to be named, of course.
